New York City is one of the most popular student travel destinations. Featuring some of the most breath-taking sky-high buildings, iconic landmarks and dazzling lights of Broadway in the theater district, NYC offers a wide variety of entertainment for your students. One of the most sought-after attractions is Carnegie Hall. The Hall’s unique history is rooted in its stunning acoustics all throughout its three concert halls and has played a detrimental role in elevating the culture status, making it one of the best in the world.
Performing at Carnegie Hall is a huge honor and there are many different programs available for your performing group.
The Masterwork Series is just one of those programs that allows qualified ensembles to collaborate on major choral works alongside a renowned guest conductor, the New York City Chamber Orchestra, and professional soloists, offering an immersive deep dive into major works that includes several rehearsals and a full orchestra performance. The Youth Choir Series offers your choir ensemble the chance to collaborate with renowned guest conductors and fellow young musicians on six distinctive short pieces, each chosen to challenge and inspire. Each participating choir will receive 15 minutes of dedicated stage time for their own afternoon performance at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Current performance opportunities are offered in Spring & Summer 2025.
The Premier Performance Invitational allows bands, orchestras, and choral groups to be a part of a highly acclaimed program allowing your ensembles to perform in one of the world’s leading venues – Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Each ensemble is given 40 minutes to perform on stage including an onstage warm up and each ensemble will be listed in the Playbill which makes for a great souvenir. The current performance schedule is set for March 2025, but 2026 dates will be released soon.
Along with having the prestigious opportunity to perform on stage, groups may also take part in a backstage tour. Come along as expert docents take you on a guided tour and experience the history and magic of this legendary New York City landmark. Get to know the concert hall that has inspired great artists for more than a century. Explore rare musical scores in Composers’ Gallery and enjoy a curated visit to the Rose Museum, home to hundreds of Carnegie Hall artifacts.
